Who are we?

The people behind allocPSA Pty. Ltd. have been working with Cybersource for the last 8 years developing allocPSA.

allocPSA Pty. Ltd. is in partnership with Cybersource Pty. Ltd. to provide a hosted solution for the allocPSA application.

How do I use the software?

When a trial or a subscription is set up to the allocPSA service we will enable your own custom web address for you, something like http://yourbusiness.allocpsa.net. You simply go to this address, log in and use the software.

Which web browers are supported?

Any relatively recent web browser should work fine. But the ones we test against include: Firefox 1 or later, Safari 2 or later, Opera 8 or later and Internet Explorer 6 or later.

How do I pay the Subscription?

Ideally you participate in the month long free trial to determine if allocPSA is right for you, and then commence a paid subscription.

In the process of commencing your subscription, you will be re-directed through our PayPal Subscription gateway, where you will be required to pay your subscription fee.

Once paid, you get to use the allocPSA service for one year. After 365 days you will then be billed through PayPal again.

The billing cycle is automated behind PayPal's Subscription tool, so you don't need to continually get your credit card out. PayPal will automatically do the transfer every year until you cancel the subscription.

How do I change the number of users that I want?

Click the "Subscribe" link at the top of the screen. Then choose the "Modify your existing paid subscription plan" option.

How do I convert my 1 month trial into a proper subscription?

Click the "Subscribe" link at the top of the screen. Then choose the "Transfer 1 month free trial into a paid subscription" option.

How do I unsubscribe?

Click the "Subscribe" link at the top of the screen. Then choose the "Cancel a paid subscription" option.

What level of support do you offer?

allocPSA subscribers receive free support, via online forums, telephone (+61 3 9428 6922) and email (support@allocpsa.com).

Data backup and recovery?

There is a backup facility built into the allocPSA application, simply click on the Tools tab, and select the "Database & File Backup" link.

This facility will let you create a backup zip file which can be downloaded or restored, by you.

Additionally, all data on our servers is backed up nightly and we can perform immediate full system recovery in the event of an emergency.

How do I report a bug?

Can you customize allocPSA for us?

Yes we can incorporate customizations if the changes look like they might benefit other allocPSA users.

Can I buy the software and run it on my own servers?

allocPSA is Open Source software (like Firefox or OpenOffice). What this means is that it is free software. Free as in freedom. The Open Source license basically specifies that you can go and download it for yourself and run it without any restrictions, other than, you must allow the people you distribute the software to, the same freedoms that are granted to you.

But if it's free, why should I pay you for it?

Because we provide hosting, we provide automated backups, we provide constant upgrades, feature requests and bug fixes. We maintain the web server. We provide the email gateway that is required to send and receive allocPSA emails. We know how to tune the servers and properly utilize caching at the database and webserver levels to provide an extremely quick web service - and we take care of you. If you need help, we'll help.

Do you guys mine our data for advertisements?

No. Your data is your data.

Is there advertising in the system somewhere?

No.

Do you accept POs or payment by check?

We accept all major forms of payment that PayPal accepts.

Do payments have to be made through PayPal?

At this time we do prefer to automate the payments behind PayPal's recurring payment gateway. However if you would like to make alternate arrangements just contact us and we'll figure something out.

What happens if there is a problem with an automatic subscription payment?

From the PayPal website:

Usually there is a problem with a subscription because a payment fails. Failures may occur for a variety of reasons. For example, a payment may fail because of insufficient funds.

If a payment fails, either the subscription can be cancelled or the payment can be reattempted. Payments are reattempted three days after the failure date. If it fails a second time, we will try once more five days later. If it fails the last attempt, the subscription is cancelled.

To avoid overlapping payments, reattempts do not occur if another payment for the same subscription terms is scheduled within 14 days of the failed payment.

A notification email is sent to you if a payment fails.


If your payment fails we will keep your instance of allocPSA alive and contact you. At the end of the week if you have not paid your subscription and we have not heard from you we will backup your data, make it available to you to download and then close your account. For the most part we will be reasonable as long as you do not attempt to abuse the system.
