Who are we?
The people behind allocPSA have been working with Cyber IT for
over a decade developing alloc.
allocPSA (piloted by Alex Lance) is in partnership with Cyber IT Solutions Pty. Ltd. to provide a hosted solution for the alloc application.
How do I use the software?
When a trial or a subscription is set up to the alloc service we will enable your own custom web address for you, something like http://yourbusiness.allocpsa.net. You simply go to this address, log in and use the software.
Which web browers are supported?
Any relatively recent web browser should work fine. But the ones we test against include: Firefox 3 or later, Safari 2 or later, Opera 11 or later and Internet Explorer 9 or later.
How do I pay the Subscription?
In the process of commencing your subscription, you will be re-directed
through our PayPal Subscription gateway, where you will be required to pay your
Once paid, you get to use the alloc service for one month, after that you will then be billed through PayPal again.
The billing cycle is automated behind PayPal's Subscription tool, so you don't need to give us your credit card information. PayPal will automatically do the transfer every month until you cancel the subscription.
How do I unsubscribe?
Either notify us and we'll cancel it, or...
Log in to your PayPal account and cancel the payment subscription. PayPal will subsequently notify us that you've stopped payments, and at the end of your final paid month, we'll deactivate your instance of alloc. Note that if you log in to alloc and go to the Tools -> Backup section, you can download all of your data.
What level of support do you offer?
alloc subscribers receive free email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and telephone (+61 3 9428 6922) support.
Data backup and recovery?
There is a backup facility built into the alloc application, simply
click on the Tools tab, and select the "Database & File Backup" link.
This facility will let you create a backup zip file which can be downloaded or restored, by you.
Additionally, all data on our servers is backed up nightly and we can perform immediate full system recovery in the event of an emergency.

Can I buy the software and run it on my own servers?
alloc is Open Source software (like Firefox or OpenOffice). What this means is that it is free software. Free as in liberty. The Open Source license basically specifies that you can go and download it for yourself and run it without any restrictions, other than, you must allow the people you distribute the software to, the same freedoms that are granted to you.
What is the service that you provide?
We host the allocPSA application online for you, we provide automated backups, we provide constant upgrades, feature requests and bug fixes. We maintain the web servers. We provide the email gateways that are required to send and receive alloc emails. We know how to tune the servers and properly utilize caching at the database and webserver levels to provide an extremely quick web service - and we take care of you. If you need help, we'll help.
Do you guys mine our data for advertisements?
No. Your data is your data.
Is there advertising in the system somewhere?
Do you accept POs or payment by check?
We accept all major forms of payment that PayPal accepts.
Do payments have to be made through PayPal?
At this time we do prefer to automate the payments behind PayPal's recurring payment gateway. However if you would like to make alternate arrangements just contact us and we'll figure something out.
What happens if there is a problem with an automatic subscription payment?
From the PayPal website:
Usually there is a problem with a subscription because a payment fails. Failures may occur for a variety of reasons. For example, a payment may fail because of insufficient funds.
If a payment fails, either the subscription can be cancelled or the payment can be reattempted. Payments are reattempted three days after the failure date. If it fails a second time, we will try once more five days later. If it fails the last attempt, the subscription is cancelled.
To avoid overlapping payments, reattempts do not occur if another payment for the same subscription terms is scheduled within 14 days of the failed payment.
A notification email is sent to you if a payment fails.
If your payment fails we will keep your instance of alloc alive and contact you. If the subcription payment doesn't go through after 10 days and we have not heard from you, we will backup your data, make it available to you to download and then close your instance of alloc.
How do I cancel my alloc service?
It is strongly recommended that you backup and download your data
before you cancel your subscription, as once your subscription to the
alloc service is cancelled your instance of alloc and all your data
will be erased. To generate and then download a data backup from within
alloc: click on the Tools tab, and select the "Database & File Backup"
To end your subscription all you need to do is cancel the PayPal subscription. PayPal subscribers may cancel their subscriptions by following the steps below. A subscription can be cancelled up until the day of the next scheduled payment.
1. Log In to your PayPal account
2. Click the History tab.
3. Click the Details of the subscription in question. (Look for the entry where the Status is 'Active')
4. Click the Cancel Subscription button. The next page will ask for confirmation, click the button again.
